Season 2023 - 2024

Artistic Director, Mariana Zschoerper is thrilled to announce San Jose Dance Theatre’s 2023 – 2024 season. After a year away from live performance, the company is ready to relaunch and support the San Jose community once more.

Mariana joined SJDT in 2019 as Ballet Mistress and Senior Faculty. She has also performed principal roles with their professional company including Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Snow Queen in The Original San Jose Nutcracker, Titania in Midsummer Night’s Dream, and multiple contemporary roles.

Cinderella

May 19th - 21st, 2023 at the California Theatre

San Jose Dance Theatre (SJDT) presents: “Cinderella” a  classic Ballet  story! This production includes a VIP reception in addition to an evening of dance by SJDT’s Professional Company and Academy Students.

October 11th - 15th, 2023 The Hammer Theatre

Step into the darkness and feel the cold embrace of fear. Experience the haunting tale of the legendary vampire through the mesmerizing artistry of ballet.  Witness the epic battles between good and evil, as the forces of darkness clash with the heroes determined to save their beloved ones. 

December 8th - 10th Nutcracker California Center for Performing Arts

A San Jose Holiday Tradition for 58 years! We welcome you to an enchanting world of elegant sugarplums, waltzing flowers, a thrilling battle between brave soldiers and menacing mice, and a Christmas tree that grows to over 200 feet!

March 14th - 16th, 2023 The Great Gatsby Montgomery Theatre

Step back in time to the roaring twenties in this dazzling production of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s masterpiece, The Great Gatsby. Watch in awe as the dancers bring to life the glitz, glamour and excess of the Jazz Age, as seen through the eyes of the enigmatic Jay Gatsby.

May 24th - 26th 2023, The Little Mermaid The Hammer Theatre

Follow the story of the mermaid who gave up everything for love, as she embarks on a journey from the depths of the sea to the world above. Watch in awe as the dancers bring life to the stunning underwater kingdom, with it’s shimmering creatures and mystical beauty. Let yourself be transported to a world where of romance and sacrifice, where the power of love knows no bounds and dreams can come true.

Ticketing FAQ’s and Policy

COVID PROTOCOLS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE according to Public Health Orders or as required by event producers.

Current COVID protocols in effect (as of June 23, 2022):
• Face Masks are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all patrons
• Proof of vaccination will NOT be required

Other COVID safety precautions: Please stay home if you don’t feel well and cannot attribute symptoms to another known cause, such as allergies or a pre-existing condition. We are happy to exchange or refund your tickets due to illness.

All patrons, regardless of age, must have a ticket to enter the theatre. San Jose Dance Theatre Maintains affordable ticketing for all patrons and only offers discounted tickets for Students and Children for special events such as the Nutcracker’s student show. All seating is organized through the theatre. San Jose Dance Theatre has no control over where you are seated. All subscription tickets are allocated on a best available basis. Social distancing may be in effect and could alter seating locations

There are no refunds unless a performance is cancelled or rescheduled.
