Floria Yi is 17 years old, and just graduated from Lynbrook High School in San Jose.

Next year, she will be studying Political Science at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, but she hopes to continue dancing there, as well.

She has attended summer intensives at Alonzo King Lines Ballet and the Rock School for Dance Education. She has truly enjoyed dancing with San Jose Dance Theatre this past year. She has loved dancing with the fellow Level 5 and 6 students, and has appreciated how encouraging and helpful Artistic Director, Linda Hurkmans, and all the teachers of San Jose Dance Theatre are.

Floria had a lot of fun dancing the lead Arabian Princess as well as Snow and Flowers in SJDT’s 2017 production of The Nutcracker. She also loved performing in San Jose Dance Theatre’s 2018 Spring Performance, “La Bayadere Kingdom of the Shades and Other Contemporary Works”. Floria was honored to be cast as the lead part in Jake Casey’s “Wavebreak”.
