Dancer of the Month – November 2018

San Jose Dance Theatre Student of the Month:
Natalie Ramskov

Natalie Ramskov is a 12 year old Level 6 San Jose Dance Theatre student. She began training in gymnastics at the age of 18 months and in ballet at the age of 5. She comes from a dancing family. Her mother is Artistic Director, Linda Hurkmans, her older sister, Julienne Ramskov, trains and performs with the English National Ballet School, and two of her aunts danced as well. All are San Jose Dance Theatre alumni. This past summer, Natalie received a scholarship from The Kirov Academy of Ballet, Washington D.C., and acceptances to Pacific Northwest Ballet, School of American Ballet Young Dancer Series, San Jose Dance Theatre, and the Royal Danish Ballet Summer Program. After training with the Royal Danish Ballet, Natalie was one of 5 students chosen out of 250 to receive a full scholarship to return. 

She was honored with the Birger Bartholin Scholarship to the 2019 Royal Danish Ballet Summer Program. This Nutcracker, Natalie is thrilled to be performing the roles of “Clara”, “Snowflake” and “Marzipan Shepherdess”! In Jan., she will compete at the Youth America Grand Prix under the coaching of David Fonnegra. Natalie loves all of her teachers and friends at SJDT. She enjoys downtime with her family, dog, reading, writing, drawing, and all things Marvel. She was selected by the Diocese of San Jose Young Authors Book Festival for her book and 2 pieces of artwork.
